About This Destination

Hidden in Uganda’s far northeast, Kidepo Valley National Park is widely regarded as the country’s most spectacular and least-explored safari destination. Often ranked among Africa’s finest wilderness parks, Kidepo delivers an unmatched sense of isolation, authenticity, and raw beauty.

This rugged paradise is defined by sweeping savannah plains, jagged mountain backdrops, and seasonal riverbeds like the Narus and Kidepo valleys. Unlike the more frequented parks, Kidepo offers a truly exclusive safari experience—fewer crowds, uninterrupted game viewing, and a deep connection to nature.

Wildlife here is exceptional and unique. The park hosts over 75 mammal species, including rare animals not commonly seen elsewhere in Uganda such as cheetahs, bat-eared foxes, and caracals. Large herds of buffalo roam the plains, often numbering in the hundreds, alongside elephants, lions, giraffes, and leopards.

Culturally, Kidepo is just as rich. The nearby Karamojong communities provide a fascinating insight into traditional pastoralist lifestyles, offering immersive cultural encounters that elevate the safari experience beyond wildlife.

For travelers seeking something beyond the ordinary, a safari that feels untouched, exclusive, and deeply African; Kidepo Valley National Park stands in a class of its own.
