Getting There

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is accessible by both road and air from Entebbe or Kampala.

By road, the journey takes approximately 8 – 10 hours, offering scenic views of Uganda’s countryside, tea plantations, and rolling hills. Common routes pass through Kabale or Kisoro depending on your trekking sector.

By air, domestic flights operate daily from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro or Kihihi airstrips, followed by a 1 – 2 hour transfer to your lodge ideal for luxury and time-conscious travelers.

Peak travel season

June to September and December – February (dry seasons, best for gorilla trekking and hiking). March – May and October – November offer fewer crowds and lush scenery but with heavier rainfall.
Weather & Climate: Bwindi has a tropical rainforest climate with cool mornings, warm afternoons, and frequent rainfall throughout the year. Temperatures typically range between 7°C and 20°C, with higher elevations being cooler.

Uganda Wildlife Authority park entry fees apply depending on residency
Permits include park entry, ranger guide, and one hour with gorillas
